The main farming activity in the area centres on apple growing and cattle raising. The area is famous for its orchards and beautiful spring blossom.
This photo shows the cottage for which replacement dwelling outline planning permission has been granted.
Dating from around 1865, it was a fine building in its day. Beyond it, an outbuilding can be seen which is also part of the site.
An old orchard is located on this property, the mature trees being planted some 80 to 100 years ago and presenting unique and desireable features for prospective purchasers.
Due to the superior nature of the landscapes in this part of the county, the area has been designated a Countryside Policy Area by the regional Planning Department. This is a Green Belt type of policy, which imposes severe restrictions on development in the area. (NI Planning Dept:Countryside Policy Area)
